Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Things That Make My Life As A Book Blogger Easier!

Phew.. I'm so not getting to 10 things, but I'm going to try!

1. Goodreads

Goodreads is just very important to me! The day I discovered Goodreads my life literally changed. I discovered there were so many more books than just the ones translated to Dutch. I discovered that books are about 20 times better in English than they are in Dutch. I discovered reviewing.

And it's still a very handy tool. It helps me do ALL of the following:

  • Keep track of which books I have read
  • Discover new books I simply MUST read
  • Connect with other bloggers
  • It's a way to share my reviews
  • See what everybody else is reading
  • See what the book blogging community and my friends think of certain books
2. The Book Depository

It's so incredibly hard to find English books in the Netherlands, especially when you don't live in Amsterdam! TBD allows me to buy English books AND it has free shipping. Yay!

3. Twitter

It's such a handy little thing to see what is going on everywhere, make friends with others, share your blogposts and bookish happenings with others, etc., etc. It's very useful!

4. Bloglovin'

Not only is Bloglovin' a good place to get followers, it allows me to read ALL the interesting posts of others. I usually don't have time to visit all the websites etc., but a quick tap on my Bloglovin' app (it rhymes!) shows me new blogposts.

5. My iPhone calendar

That probably isn't its official name, but who cares. It's a very handy thing to keep track of when to post what, when certain giveaways end, to schedule blog tours, etc. And it even sends me an e-mail reminder! As an obsessive e-mail checker, this is a dream. Great, and so useful!

6. My e-mail

It tells me when I have new comments on my blog (so I know when to respond), when I have a new follower (so I can do a happy dance), or when someone mentions me on Twitter (so I know when to respond). Yay for e-mail!

7. My iPhone

Okay, I'd never thought I'd become someone who uses her phone like A LOT, but it's so useful for blogging! I can check my e-mail, twitter, Bloglovin' and Goodreads on it with a simple tap, and I can post blogpost I've already written but not published yet. And it has that calendar thingie. It's just the best to keep track of what is happening in the blogging world.

8. Netgalley

So useful for starting book bloggers! There are always some publishers kind enough to give starting book bloggers a chance by giving them an ARC. And getting one is the most amazing feeling in the world.

9. My Love For Books

Okay, it's obvious, but still. My love for books is my motivation. It's what got me to start blogging. Book blogging without loving books is just impossible, so yes, it does make my blogging life easier.

Wow. So I didn't get ten things, but I very nearly got there! I actually hadn't realised I relied on so many things. What are your ten things? Make sure to give me a link!

  1. I feel like I would've done the same things as you if I were to post this. I live on my iPhone and my calendar is synced with Google Calendar so it's like 'best of both worlds' lol.

I don't use bloglovin' though, I just visit blogs manually. >.<

    Fab post, Celine! <33

    1. Yes, I'd never thought I'd become a 'phone person', but here I am! Blogging is doing bad things to me, hehe.

I think Bloglovin has a very handy app and I'm usually too much in a rush to visit every blog manually! I'm actually kind of amazed you can manage that :)

      Thank you <3

  2. Ooh The Book Depository is definitely something I love. I live in the U.S., so I'm lucky, but I do like that TBD gives me a shot to get English books for a good price and free shipping can't be beat!

    1. Yes, free shipping is the best thing ever! I really hate it when you find that one awesome book and it's cheap too... And then the shipping prices are too high *sigh* So, even though they are very slow concerning their delivery, I love TBD!
